Bresnahan shines in Duquesne win
PITTSBURGH — Butler graduate and Duquesne University senior point guard Olivia Bresnahan scored 11 points, grabbed six rebounds, had five assists and three steals in the Dukes’ 69-49 women’s basketball win Saturday at Massachusetts.
Duquesne (17-9, 9-3) has won six straight games and hosts Richmond at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Pioneers defeated in WPCC title game
Alex Alvarez scored 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, but the Butler County Community College men’s basketball team dropped an 88-77 decision at CCAC Boyce in the WPCC championship game Sunday.
Austin Miller scored 19 points and Dom Pusateri 16 for the Pioneers (13-14). Shae Stobert had five assists.
BC3 will compete in the upcoming Region XX, Division III Tournament being played at CCAC.
County schools host WPIAL playoffs
Butler and Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic will host WPIAL basketball playoff doubleheaders this week.
Butler will host the Class AA girls Neshannock-Shady Side Academy game at 6:30 p.m. today, followed by the Class AAA boys Indiana-Central Valley game at 8 p.m.
Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic will host the Class AAA girls Chartiers Valley-Ford City game at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, followed by the Class AA boys Lincoln Park-Avonworth game at 8 p.m.
