KITTANNING — Amanda Slagle-Hiles is running for re-election as Armstrong County treasurer.

Hiles, a Republican, said she will focus on the importance of having government accounting experience and of having the office work across political party lines with all other elected officials to ensure sound financial stewardship for the taxpayers. She first took office in 2012.

She is a 1997 graduate of Karns City High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana (Pa.) University in August 2000.

Hiles lives in West Kittanning with her husband, David, and sons, Matthew, 15 and Joshua, 12.
