I-79 repairs bring traffic changes
LANCASTER TWP — Intermittent lane closures and a reduced speed limit along a section of Interstate 79 are scheduled for next week as the state will begin repairing a pipe spanning beneath both north and south lanes of the highway.
The state Department of Transportation said the daytime work zone will be between Exit 91 to Little Creek Road and Exit 96 to Route 488, weather permitting. Both northbound and southbound shoulders will be closed for the duration of the project, while lane restrictions will be in place as necessary.
The speed limit also will be reduced to 55 mph in the work zone.
Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down, and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the area, PennDOT said in a release.
