4:24 p.m. Thursday — An unknown hit-and-run driver rear-ended a car on Route 108 just west of Lang Lane in Worth Township, and drove away. Susan M. Duffy, 60, of New Castle was driving the car.3:28 p.m. Jan. 5 — A car driven by Michael D. Zemann, 30, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, crashed into a mail box and embankment before rolling onto its roof on Bonniebrook Road just north of Dreher Road in Jefferson Township.Police cited Zemann for driving too fast for conditions and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.
Saturday — Several items including an antique sausage stuffer were stolen from an unlocked barn in a burglary at a home on Lobaugh Hill Road in Madison Township.The break-in happened between 2 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Along with the sausage stuffer, taken were two tables, a display case and a kerosene heater. Police have no suspects.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 814-226-1710.9:30 p.m. Thursday — An 18-year-old Rimersburg man is suspected of inappropriately touching a 16-year-old girl at a home in Toby Township. Police said the indecent assault investigation continues, and they did not identify the suspect.
9:20 a.m. Sunday — Edward M. Buffington, 59, of Kittanning drove away after his car backed into a pickup truck parked at a home on West Scenic Drive in Manor Township. Buffington is charged with hit-and-run.2:22 a.m. Thursday — A 21-year-old Applewold woman, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Tarrtown Road in East Franklin Township.Thursday — Convicted out-of-state sex offender Robert J. Anderson, 27, of Ford City was arrested on charges he failed to register with the Megan's Law unit since moving to Pennsylvania in 2014.Anderson moved to Ford City last summer. He never registered with the police Megan's Law unit. The police website showed he has convictions for indecent assault in 1998 and 2012 and for unlawful contact with minors in 2012.He was arraigned on felony charges of failing to comply with registration requirements, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000.
10 p.m. Friday — Daniel L. Alexander, 42, of Portersville is suspected of drunken driving after he lost control of his sport utility vehicle and struck several mailboxes before hitting a ditch on McConnells Mill road just east of Eckert Bridge Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Alexander, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Jameson Hospital in New Castle with minor injuries. Police said charges of driving under the influence are pending toxicology results.
