1:30 p.m. Tuesday — A ring and bracelet were found in the area of Bon Aire Plaza. The owner can claim the property by calling police at 724-285-9600.9:20 a.m. Monday — Jordan Dananay, 31, of Butler lost control of his car on slush-covered Portman Road and crashed into a tree.

Wednesday — Police charged Thomas C. Custer, 30, of Jackson Center stemming from a New Year's Day vandalism spree during which he allegedly slashed nine tires in the 300 block of Elm Street. Damages exceeded $1,000.Custer is charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief.

Wednesday — A Butler teenager was arraigned on a felony escape charge two weeks after he allegedly removed his electronic monitoring device while on house arrest.The suspect, 18-year-old Jacob M. Rivers, was placed in Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail following arraignment.According to court documents, Rivers was fitted with an ankle monitor Dec. 17 when he was placed on house arrest. The county's monitoring agency Dec. 29 discovered that the device had been removed.Later that same day, authorities caught the teen in a yard in the 400 block of East Locust Street in Butler. Charging documents noted that he was “uncooperative as to where he had thrown the monitoring device,” which is valued at $800.In addition to escape, Rivers was arraigned on misdemeanor theft charge.

Wednesday — Selena Klapheke, 29, of Gibsonia was caught with suspected crack cocaine in her mouth after being booked into Butler County Prison earlier this monthCorrections officers Jan. 3 found Klapheke with the drug in a plastic baggie corner, which was hidden in her mouth, according to court documents.Klapheke was originally taken to the prison after Butler police arrested her on a warrant following a traffic stop. When she got out of the vehicle, officers found a small smoking pipe on the seat below her. She also was carrying a syringe.In the latest case filed Wednesday, she is charged with possession of a controlled substance by an inmate, a felony.

Monday — A dump truck was stolen Sunday or Monday in Forward Township. The white, Ford F-450 truck with aluminum sides, was taken from the area of Oak Drive.Cherry Ridge Landscaping of Evans City owns the truck, which is valued at $15,000. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.7:10 a.m. Friday — An unknown driver in a box truck did not stop after sideswiping a car on Route 422 east in Summit Township. Heather L. Hawkins, 27, of Ford City, Armstrong County was driving the car.5:40 a.m. Jan. 6 — Kenneth C. Faith, 54, of Boyers crashed against a tree after losing control of his car on ice-covered Mahood Road just north of Byers Road in Clay Township.Dec. 27 — A burglar stripped the wiring from a vacant house in the 300 block of Rocky Springs Road in Marion Township. The break-in happened between Dec. 23 and 27.Along with 200 feet of copper wiring taken from the home's walls, also stolen was a 100-watt kerosene heater and four 100-foot extension cords. The stolen property is valued at $2,200,Anyone with information is asked to call police.

7:50 a.m. Monday — Thomas E. Magill, 47, of Ellwood City lost control of his sport utility vehicle on an ice patch and slid into a utility pole along Pleasant Hill Road in Perry Township.6:35 a.m. Monday — A pickup truck driven by Matthew G. Foreman, 22, of Kittanning crossed into the opposing lane and collided with an SUV on Freeport Road just west of Old Route 28 in North Buffalo Township. Police cited Foreman for driving at an unsafe speed. Cynthia M. Younkins, 58, of Kittanning was the other driver.
