FRIEDENS — A Canadian company has idled two southwestern Pennsylvania coal mines that it purchased last year and laid off 130 employees as it combines operations at two nearby mines.

Corsa Coal said Friday that weakness in global coal markets had prompted the firm to eliminate 25 percent of its Northern Appalachian Division workforce.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Keeping production of the Jeep Wrangler in the city where original Jeeps began rolling off the assembly line during World War II will take a sizable investment, the head of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles said.A decision has not been made on whether the Wrangler assembly line will be moved, Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.Fiat Chrysler is considering moving production so the vehicle can be made with an aluminum body. The automaker has said the changes needed to make a redesigned Wrangler would be too costly at the Toledo plant.
