Butler Police11:53 a.m. Dec. 31 — A car driven by Daniel R. Myers, 55, of Butler crashed into a tree in front of Kmart off Hansen Avenue after Myers had to avoid an oncoming vehicle.Myers told police he was driving southbound on CDC Drive when he was attempting to turn left into the parking lot of the store.An oncoming vehicle had its right turn signal on, indicating it also was going to turn into the lot, Myers told police.However, the vehicle did not turn and continued into the path of Myers’ turning vehicle, forcing Myers to attempt to avoid it. Myers’ vehicle hit the curb and crashed into a tree, police said.No charges were filed.
