Renee (Smith-Schaffer) Bloom of Butler received a doctoral degree in administration and leadership studies from Indiana (Pa.) University. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA.
She is an assistant professor of allied health at Clarion University.
Bloom is a 1981 graduate of Seneca Valley High School and a 1991 graduate of ACMH Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. She received a bachelor's degree in radiologic science from LaRoche College in 1992. In 2002, she received a master's degree in health science from Slippery Rock University.
She is the wife of Paul Schaffer and she has two sons. Her parents are Burton and Rita Bloom of Evans City.

Laura Elizabeth Scharding of Dublin, Republic of Ireland, received a doctoral degree in archaeology from the University of Dublin.She is chairman of the National Council for the Blind of Ireland.Scharding was home-schooled through the Cranberry Christian Home Schoolers. She graduated from Butler County Community College and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She received a master's degree in archaeology from the University of Dublin.Scharding is the daughter of the Rev.
