CRANBERRY TWP — The Four Points by Sheraton has transferred ownership and now will be the Doubletree by Hilton Pittsburgh-Cranberry.

The new owners are planning a multimillion dollar transformation of the hotel that will include a new ballroom, updated guests rooms and a modern design throughout the property.

The new ownership group includes the Elmhurst Group and DiCicco Development. The property will be managed by Prospera Hospitality.

Perhaps the biggest change will be the complete transformation of the 23,000-square-foot ballroom in the hotel, which is off Route 19 near the southern border of Cranberry.

Don Davis, the general manager for the new ownership group, said in a release the revamped ballroom will be the second largest in the Pittsburgh market.

In addition, the general manager said meeting spaces will be completely renovated as well the hotel’s lobby.

Davis said the new ownership group also plans on introducing new food and beverages as well as updating guest rooms.

Davis said the hotel’s 189 guest rooms will get additional amenities. Guests will continue to use the 24-hour fitness center, the indoor and outdoor swimming pools and complimentary Internet.

Renovations are expected to be done by August.
