Today — Police reported they are investigating the theft of jewelry during a burglary between Nov. 5 and 16 at a home in the 100 block of Main Street in Connoquenessing.Today — Michael J. Gillespie Jr., 30, of Slippery Rock was charged with driving under the influence stemming from a crash at 2:20 p.m. Aug. 22 in Summit Township. Gillespie's vehicle struck a utility pole in the 100 block of Freeport Road.9:32 a.m. Thursday — No injures were reported in a three-car wreck in Jefferson Township.The crash occurred when a car driven by Joshua J. Gizienski, 18, of Valencia struck the back of a second car on Dinnerbell Road. The crash forced that car into a third car that was stopped to turn onto Frazier Road.Cloe M. Jackson, 16, and Devin D. Sherman, 16, both of Penn Township, were driving the second and third cars, respectively. Police cited Gizienski for driving too fast for conditions.4:27 p.m. Wednesday — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Oakland Township.The crash happened when a car driven by Michael D. Steele, 21, of Chicora spun out of control and collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Billie J. Myers, 43, of Chicora. Following the collision, Steele's car struck a guardrail.Both drivers, who were both wearing seat belts, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Police cited Steele for driving too fast for conditions.12:29 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Justin E. Shultz, 32, of Pittsburgh and a car driven by Benjamin A. Liebendorfer, 27, of Ellwood City collided on Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township. Both drivers were cited for driving too fast for conditions.12:50 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Kevin R. Schell, 45, of Slippery Rock struck a tree after spinning out of control on West Liberty Street just west of Moraine State Park Road in Brady Township. Police cited Schell for driving too fast for conditions.Tuesday — A thief stole fuel from a gasoline drum at the Lake Arthur County Club maintenance building on Unionville road in Franklin Township. The theft happened between 3 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is to call 724-284-8100.5:56 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Tyler L. Cottingham, 31, of Johnstown, Cambria County, struck a deer on Route 108 just west of West Park Road in Worth Township.2:33 a.m. Dec. 27 — Justin A. Sass was arrested for suspicion of DUI on Rowan Road just east of Route 19 in Cranberry Township.
4:12 p.m. Thursday — A pickup truck driver suffered only minor injuries in a rollover wreck in West Franklin Township. Samuel L. Beers, 26, of Cadogan lost control of the pickup on Route 422 just west Mushroom Farm Road.The truck spun 360 degrees before flipping up a hillside and sideswiping a utility pole. Moments later, the truck rolled down the hill, striking a mail box and two newspaper boxes. Butler Ambulance Service examined Beers but he refused further treatment. The Worthington Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene. Police cited Beers for disregarding traffic lanes.12:30 p.m. Thursday — An 81-year-old man is suspected of inappropriately touching a 55-year-old woman at the Sugarcreek Rest Home on Lakeside Drive in West Franklin Township. Police said they are investigating the reported indecent assault.
