State police and firefighters inspect the damage caused in a head-on crash Thursday morning on Route 228 in Clinton Township. Police blame icy road conditions for the wreck that left Matthew T. Faiella, 22, of Freeport hospitalized with serious injuries. Faiella was driving north when he lost control of his 1996 Honda Civic near Brewer Road. The car traveled into the opposing lane and collided with a 2003 Honda Odyssey driven by Matthew R. Obley, 51, of Cranberry Township. Faiella was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital. His condition was not known this morning. Obley was not hurt. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
