Butler Township police were forced to direct traffic in the bitter cold after a truck hauling an oversized load snagged a set of three traffic lights at Hansen Avenue and Whitestown Road about 2:20 p.m. Tuesday. The truck was traveling south when its 15-foot, 3-inch load struck and pulled down the lights that control northbound traffic, police said. A crew for the company that services the lights was called to make repairs. The lights were out for several hours.
