2 injured as school bus collides with SUV

JEFFERSON TWP — Two people were hurt Tuesday afternoon when a sport utility vehicle collided with a South Butler County School District bus on Dinnerbell Road, state police said.

Eight students were on the bus but none of the children or driver David L. Grossman, 66, of Butler was injured.

The SUV driver, Alexis R. Lintz, 27, of Saxonburg and her passenger, Neil R. Kurowski, 36, of Sarver, suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment, authorities said.

Lintz was traveling west on Dinnerbell Road just west of Golden City Road about 2:50 p.m. when she lost control of her 2011 Nissan Rogue while slowing for traffic, according to a police report.

The SUV crossed into the eastbound lane and struck the bus.

Jason Davidek, district spokesman, said school administrators, responded to the scene after learning of the crash. Saxonburg volunteer firefighters also assisted police.

In accordance to district procedure, students were taken back to Knoch High School to be picked up by parents and guardians.

Police cited Lintz for driving at an unsafe speed and disregarding traffic lanes.
