CRANBERRY TWP — The Westinghouse Electric Co. recently agreed to “significantly increase” fuel deliveries to Ukraine through 2020.

The company with its global headquarters in Cranberry this week announced the agreement in a news release.

Under the agreement with a Ukrainian utility, Westinghouse will help lessen Ukraine’s dependence on oil from Russia, although company officials did not release the value of the deal or the amount of fuel that will be delivered.

Westinghouse has operated in Ukraine since 2003, and the most recent agreement will expand those operations.

The company provides fuel to 145 plants globally, 65 of which are in Europe.
