Parks chairman's charges dismissed
Charges of stalking and terroristic threats have been withdrawn against the chairman of the city’s Parks, Recreation Grounds and Facilities Authority.
Ed Codi, 69, of Butler, was charged by Butler Police in September with leaving his former girlfriend 21 voice messages following a breakup. At least one of the messages allegedly contained a threat, according to court documents.
Codi also allegedly parked his vehicle in front of the woman’s house. She told police she was concerned for her safety.
Both misdemeanor charges were withdrawn Monday, according to court documents.
The facilities authority manages Kelly Automotive Park and is a partial owner of the Butler BlueSox baseball team, which it is attempting to sell to U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly of Butler.
Codi has been on the authority’s board of directors since its creation in 2006.
The board announced earlier this month plans to dissolve and turn its responsibilities over to the city redevelopment authority, which owns the ballpark. That process could take up to nine months.
