RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

Christmas Eve services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will start at 1 p.m. at the Farm Market Shelter on Chestnut Street. There will be crafts, gifts, story time and refreshments.

The 5:30 p.m. contemporary service at the church will focus on the family. The 7:30 p.m. traditional service will include readings, music and the message. The 11 p.m. service will include caroling and readings and conclude with Holy Communion.

The church office will be closed Saturday and Monday.

Christ’s OutreachThis week’s missions prayer focus at Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., is for Andy and Lizet Bowen with World Gospel Missions in Paraguay.Those going on Friday’s trip to the Bayernhof Museum and Mansion will meet at the church before 9 a.m.The food pantry donations needed are bottled juices and canned meats.There will be no Tuesday Bible study.

Community Life ChurchCommunity Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.Families are welcome to participate in personal care visits to deliver Christmas cards and/or sing Christmas carols. The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at New Haven Courts at Clearview, 5:50 p.m. Friday in the VA parking lot and 1 p.m. Sunday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Covenant PresbyterianCovenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will light the fourth Advent candle and have the Christmas joy offering during the Sunday service. This Presbyterian offering provides assistance to those serving the church and provides scholarships for students at Presbyterian-related schools and colleges.The 2015 offering envelopes are in the narthex.The rehearsal for the Christmas Eve service of lessons and carols will be at 12:25 p.m. Sunday.

East Butler PresbyterianEast Butler Presbyterian Church, Ninth and Randolph streets, East Butler, will include a children’s program, “A Very Turtle Christmas,” during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service.Christmas Eve worship will be a candlelight service with Holy Communion at 6 p.m.

Faith United PresbyterianThe youths of Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St. Ext., will light the candle of love for the fourth Sunday of Advent.Christmas Eve worship will be at 7:30 p.m. Lessons, carols and the singing of “Silent Night” by candlelight will be the main elements of the service.

First BaptistFirst Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have regular Sunday school and worship this week followed by lunch and a 1:15 p.m. worship service.There will be a 6 p.m. Christmas Eve service for all ages Wednesday. The youth groups will not meet.

First Baptist Church of Evans CityFirst Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will have a 7 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight service.There will be an 11 a.m. Christmas Day service.

First English LutheranChildren at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Mars United PresbyterianMars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will present four 30-minute presentations of “The Living Nativity” from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the church parking lot. Refreshments will be served in the church.The choir will perform the cantata “Love Came Down at Christmas” during the 11 a.m. Sunday service. Meridian United Presbyterian Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will have a community candlelight Christmas Eve worship service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Sunday’s worship services at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old W. 422, will include special music and a 50-plant poinsettia tree display.There will be Christmas Eve candlelight worship services at 4 and 7 p.m. The services will include the Lord’s Supper, special readings, music by the choir and bell choir and the poinsettia tree.

The group will help the Evans City Food Cupboard prepare for its holiday food distribution. Then the group will go to North Park for ice skating.
