KARNS CITY — The Karns City High School Music Department, directed by Beth Ackelson and Amanda Paulson, will present a combined choir and band Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the high school auditorium.

SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University's Old Stone House has expanded its program to offer a six-course series of cooking classes beginning Jan. 10.The Saturday classes will begin with a basic foundation of how to light a fire using steel and flint, advancing through soup, breads and then move to full entrees and desserts.The sessions will include hands-on instruction, tasting of created recipes and a recipe book covering the featured topic.Classes will meet from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 10 to Feb. 14 at the Old Stone House at the intersection of Routes 8, 173 and 528.The session will conclude with a sit-down dinner at which students may take a guest.Cost for the course is $130. FRANKLIN — A Franklin Christmas will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at the Barrow-Civic Theatre, 1223 Liberty St.Proceeds will benefit the theater and the Franklin Fine Arts Council.
