1:22 a.m. Saturday — Bruce T. Gruver, 53, of Chicora was arrested for driving under the influence after his car crashed into four other vehicles that were parked on side of Zeigler Avenue.Police said Gruver first struck a pickup truck that was facing west. His car then struck three other cars that were facing east. According to a police report, he told officers that “something went mechanically wrong with his vehicle, causing him to lose control.”All the vehicle in the crash sustained severe damage.A breath test later showed Gruver's blood-alcohol level was 0.18 percent, or more than twice the state's 0.08 percent limit.In addition to DUI, police cited Gruver for careless driving.4:10 p.m. Friday — Michael T. Savage, 21, of Center Township was found with suspected drug contraband after he was caught allegedly shoplifting at the Kmart store at Pullman Square.Employees told police they spotted Savage taking store items and placing them into a back pack he had with him. He was later stopped leaving the store. A search of the pack, according to a police report, found $89 in stolen toiletries.Additionally, the search turned up a syringe and spoon with suspected drug residue.Police said Savage is charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
1:32 a.m. Saturday — Bradley Ringeisen, 22, of Evans City was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 68 in Connoquenessing Township.8:07 p.m. Friday — A teenager was hurt when his car crashed into a tree in Jefferson Township. Zachary T. Hudecek, 18, of Gibsonia lost control of the car on Bonniebrook Road just north of Jones Road.Hudecek was wearing a seat belt and suffered a minor injury. Police said he was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.Thursday — An unknown thief stole several tools from an automotive shop on Sandy Hill Road in Clinton Township. The theft happened between Nov. 22 and Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.1:51 p.m. Nov. 21 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Jason A. Everly, 36, of Valencia and a car driven by Mabel M. Mosley, 53, of Pittsburgh collided at Saxonburg Boulevard and Knoch Road in Clinton Township. Mosley, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.Police cited Everly for making an improper left turn.
Friday — A would-be burglar tried to break into a couple's home on Cherry Run Road in Toby Township. The attempted burglary happened between 11 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Police did not immediately say if they have any suspects.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 814-226-1710.
Sunday — Police reported they are investigating the theft of a 21-year-old Sandy Lake Township woman's diamond wedding ring stolen from her home earlier this year. The ring was taken between June 12 and 15 while she was moving from her home in the 3500 block of Sandy Lake-New Lebanon Road.7:35 p.m. Saturday — Virginia C. Richardson, 70, of Grove City struck a deer on Route 258 just south of Saxon Lane in Findley Township. No one was hurt but the car had to be towed from the scene.12:13 p.m. Tuesday — An unknown white male drove away in a white four-door car after he crashed into another car while backing up in the Taco Bell parking lot on Campbell Boulevard in Springfield Township.
10:10 p.m. Saturday — Someone may have tried to break into a home and shed on Old Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. A 59-year-old woman who lives there told police that an unknown person opened and closed the door to her home.The same suspect also opened the doors to the woman's shed. Nothing was found missing from the shed.5:03 a.m. Friday — One person was hurt in a one-car crash on ice-covered Route 488 just west of River Road in Perry Township. Dennis W. Stacy Jr., 49, of Ellwood City lost control of the car and slid into a tree. Stacy, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries. Police said they cited him for driving too fast for conditions.
