Army Drum
Salvation Army volunteers in November 1979 prepare the Christmas kettles for the Butler shopping area. From left, volunteers Dan Dries, Melody Williams and Stephen Dries work on the big drum which was to be placed on Main Street. Dan and Stephen were sons of Maj. Robert Fries, Salvation Army officer. Kettle donations were to make the holiday season brighter for area children, needy families and senior citizens, as well as assisting the Army’s year round programs.
