3rd Festival of Trees set for Saturday
ADAMS TWP — Residents on Saturday will have an opportunity to help needy families by viewing nearly 50 beautifully decorated Christmas trees, which will be for sale.
Hosanna Industries’ third annual Festival of Trees will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Quality Gardens on Route 228.
Amanda Becker, Hosanna Industries spokesman, said businesses, organizations and individuals have provided decorated artificial trees that are festooned in different themes.
The public also can view the display before Saturday’s event and drop a dollar in the can in front of their favorite tree to vote for that tree. The sponsor that receives the most amount will win a prize.
The decorated trees then will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Becker said the trees will be priced from $20 to $200.
Those who buy trees are expected to take them home on the day of the event.
“We encourage people to come right away at 10 a.m. if they are interested in buying a specific tree,” Becker said.
A guitarist playing holiday music will round out Saturday’s event, which is free to attend.
Becker said the Butler Area Woodturners will sell a limited number of their hand-tooled ornaments for $10 to $30.
She said the quality of the trees’ decorations is second to none.
“Plenty of the ornaments are handmade,” she said.
Last year’s festival raised more than $6,000 for the needy families that Hosanna Industries assists.
“One of our main focuses is repairs for needy households in the area,” Becker said.
A special room at the already festive Quality Gardens is reserved for the festival each year.
“They give us a huge section in the back that is filled with all of our trees,” Becker said. “We are very grateful to them.”
Hosanna Industries invites the public to come see the trees, enjoy a snack, and vote for or buy their favorite creations.
“The trees are gorgeous, and you can support a good local cause,” Becker said. “It’s a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.”
