More than 295 Butler residents joined the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Butler County Community College. Participants raised more than $25,000.
“Funds raised will provide care and support services to the 400,000 residents of Pennsylvania living with Alzheimer’s or a related dementia, while also contributing to advancing critically needed research,” said Gail Roddie-Hamlin, president and CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association.
Participants completed a one-mile walk, learned about the disease and the role the association plays in the fight against it and learned how they can become involved in advocacy efforts.
Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. For more information or to make a donation, visit alz.org/walk.
