School district posts consolidation survey
BUTLER TWP — The Butler School District has made a survey available for those who would like to voice their opinions about school consolidation plans being considered by district officials.
The survey on the website will be available until Nov. 21. It is at basdk12.org/domain/1166 on the Master Plan Facilities Study page.
The 30-question survey covers several consolidation-related topics, including economics, educational programs, class and school size, grade reconfigurations and redistricting.
Dale Lumley, superintendent said he hopes the public will answer the survey. Input will be collected and considered by the school board and administration.
The district also has created a separate, private survey for district teachers and employees.
The school board is considering several consolidation plans, which include several elementary school closures with grade reconfigurations as options.
A public meeting about these plans will be at 6 p.m. Nov. 24 at the intermediate high school auditorium.
