SRU football team No. 8 in region

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock University football team has moved up to No. 8 in the Super Region One rankings this week.

The top six teams at the conclusion of the regular season this weekend will qualify for the NCAA Division II playoffs. Six of the top eight teams play each other Saturday.

SRU hosts No. 1 Bloomsburg at 12:30 p.m. in the PSAC championship game. No. 2 Concord plays No. 6 Shepherd and No. 4 Winston-Salem State meets No. 7 Virginia State.

Rock men's soccer players on All-PSAC

SLIPPERY ROCK — Four Slippery Rock University men's soccer players have earned All-PSAC honors.

Senior Stephen Donnelly and junior Ryan Boylan made first team. Donnelly had 13 goals and 33 points while Boylan anchored SRU's defensive line.

Junior Peter Boylan and senior Dom Francis made second team. Both scored seven goals this season.
