Butler asks people to spy on 'Secret Agent Musical'
Butler High School will present the fall musical, “Sympathy Jones: The New Secret Agent Musical” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 and 15 in the Butler Senior High Auditorium, 120 Campus Lane.
Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
What happens if you cross James Bond with Austin Powers and he was a her? You get Sympathy Jones, Super-Secret Agent.
Sympathy dreams of being a secret agent, but she’s stuck as a secretary until, one day, a confidential file is accidentally left on her desk. When she discovers that the file contains information about a plot to overthrow the government, Sympathy seizes her chance for adventure and fame.
But she soon realizes that trying to save the world against impossible odds is not nearly as glamorous as she thought it would be, and she certainly can’t do it alone. This entertaining and family-friendly 1960s-era musical is full of humor, self-discovery and action.
Music and lyrics are by Masi Asare, and Brooke Pierce wrote the book.
Dale VanLaningham is the director, and Stephanie Marshall is the musical staging director.
Danielle Smith is the choreographer, Alicia Pabrinkis is the vocal director and Shanna Kelly is the orchestra conductor.
Robert Harrison is the technical director.
Carol Albright, Audrey Eberle and Deb Moran are in charge of costumes.
Jennifer Mariacher is in charge of props.
