BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Nancy Cox will present the special music for the Sunday worship service at the Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road. Special recognition will be given to all veterans.

The church’s annual Thanksgiving dinner will be at 4 p.m. Sunday.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will have red church offerings Sunday to benefit the Covenant Food Cupboard.

Veterans will be honored at both Sunday services and a luncheon will follow. Take a dish to share. Meat and beverages will be provided.

The M&M group will meet 5 p.m. Sunday.

The church community dinner work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St.

The finance committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

The board of trustees will meet after the worship service Sunday at Christ’s Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

The missions prayer focus this week is Andy and Lizet Bowen with World Gospel Missions in Paraguay.

Shoeboxes to fill for Operation Christmas Child will be available Sunday.

The trip to Hermitage/Sharon will be Nov. 21. For more information, call the church office.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

The church will celebrate 10 years Friday. This weekend a large anniversary cake will help celebrate the milestone.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

The adult Sunday school class of Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will view and discuss the video “The Story of the Bible” at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the assembly room.

FIRST BAPTIST

The ladies’ Bible study of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will be at 7 p.m. today at the Dittmer’s home.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Because of Consecration Sunday, First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have only one service at 10:30 a.m. A meal will follow. Sunday school will not meet.

FIRST UNITED METHODIST

First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St., will offer Thanksgiving baskets to those in need who are unable to get to either of the Thanksgiving meals in the area. The church will receive requests through Nov. 14. To request a basket, call the church office at 724-283-6160 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

There will be a Minute for Mission Sunday at Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia. A representative from Adoption Connection will talk about its services.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank at Grace@Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The church will honor veterans and celebrate Harvest Home Sunday. Take donations for Covenant Food Cupboard to the Sunday service.

The church also will celebrate Golden Agers Sunday by honoring members who are older than 80. There will be a luncheon after the service.

The finance committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, and the worship and music committee will meet at 7 p.m.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets each Sunday morning at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Mary Ann Mahan and Trevor Ackelson will provide the special music at GraceWay for the Sunday worship service. Veterans will be recognized and honored during the service.

Sunday is the last Sunday to submit names for turkey boxes and the giving tree.

The GraceWay steering committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Panera Bread, 330 New Castle Road.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The deacons of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will receive boxed or bagged items for Harvest Home including cereal, pasta, dried beans, stuffing mix, flavored gelatin, pudding and cake mix.

Donations of new or gently- used shoes for the Soles 4 Souls mission project may be placed in the computer room.

MERIDIAN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The annual congregational meeting will be Sunday following the worship service at Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave.

The Rev. James Higgins will be the guest minister Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Main Street In Connoquenessing.

The November cause of the month is the Butler Chapter of the Salvation Army. Cash donations will help feed the needy during the holiday season.

The budget committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday to develop the 2015 church operating budget.

ST. LUKE’S LUTHERAN

The pastor will be available for “Prayer at the Rail” after both services Sunday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg.

There will be a Fellowship for Christian Stewardship lunch and vocation module at noon Sunday. A panel of professionals will discuss how faith determined and influenced their vocations.

ST. PAUL ROMAN CATHOLIC

A new high school faith enrichment series on navigating Scripture will be from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. Sunday in Glenn Hall of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St.

The St. Paul Catholic Women and Christian Mothers Yarn Spinners will meet from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday to make garments for baptisms and prayer shawls and lap robes for senior parishioners.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

HIS Kids Christian School, 650 Saxonburg Road, will welcome members and friends of Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, to an open house from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today.

The youth group will meet at noon Sunday to shop for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes.

There will be blood pressure checks after the 5:30 p.m. Saturday service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township. There also will be blood pressure checks in between the Sunday morning services.

Youths going to SNL will meet at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the church.

The stewardship ministry will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

VALENCIA PRESBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, will have its annual congregational meeting at 11 a.m. Sunday following the worship service. The meeting will include election of church officers, approval for the pastor’s terms of call for 2015 and receiving the budget.
