To help consumers use the Marketplace, Penn State Extension and the Pennsylvania Office of Rural Health launched a website, “Health Insurance and You” (http://extension.psu.edu/health/insurance) as a one-stop resource for information.
Created under the 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the marketplace offers individuals, families and small businesses a way to learn about health coverage options; compare health insurance plans based on costs, benefits and other features; choose a plan; and enroll in coverage.
The next enrollment period will be from Nov. 15 to Feb. 15, with coverage beginning as early as Jan. 1.
