The North Akron bridal shop visited last weekend by Ebola patient Amber Vinson is getting a specialized cleanup before it reopens next week.

Vinson, 29, the Dallas nurse and former Akron area resident now under quarantine, visited the shop last weekend to plan her wedding but did not try on any clothing there, investigators have said. The shop owner decided to close the store Thursday as a precautionary measure and to keep it closed through Tuesday after learning Vinson had been a recent customer.

Now, the owners of East Tallmadge Avenue shop Coming Attractions Bridal & Formal say they hired a New Jersey firm, ClorDiSys Solutions, to clean the shop.

The company uses ultraviolet light technology it calls “The Torch System” to decontaminate and kill microorganisms such as viruses and germs.

“We have reached out to the experts with regards to cleaning our store. ClorDiSys’ The Torch is the best piece of equipment that hospitals use for just this type of application,” said Don Younker. Anna Younker, his wife, is the store owner.

“They are going to be at our store on Sunday using the equipment,” Don Younker said.
