Emory Chapel holds hymn sing

SARVER — Emory Chapel United Methodist Church, at the intersection of Sarver and Ekastown Roads, will host an old-fashioned hymn sing at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Orthodox church schedules sale

St. Anthony Orthodox Church, 400 Sixth Ave., will have a rummage and cookie sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 25.

Library teaches pumpkin carving

EVANS CITY — Take a pumpkin to the Evans City Public Library, 204 S. Jackson St., for Pumpkin Carving 101 at 10 a.m. and noon Oct. 25.

The workshops will be taught by Jessica and Eric Hagan and are for all ages. The morning workshop also will have pumpkin painting.

St. John’s United Church of Christ will offer Trunk or Treat from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the library parking lot.

To participate in a workshop, register at the library.

Rockdale Road rabies clinic set

JEFFERSON TWP — There will be a rabies clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 25 at a private home at 148 Rockdale Road. Paul Eismann will be the veterinarian.

All animals should be on a leash or in a carrier and at least 12 weeks old.

Proceeds will benefit Hope House Ministries.

Oktoberfest aids at-risk youths

SAXONBURG — An Oktoberfest celebration to benefit at-risk youths will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25 at St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St.

The event will include a traditional German food buffet, silent auction and quilt raffle.

Proceeds will benefit the Winnie McGee Caring Fund at Glade Run Lutheran Services in Zelienople.

Food will be served in Centennial Hall on State Street behind the church. Takeout orders and parking are available.

St. Mary’s fall card party slated

FREEPORT — St. Mary Mother of God Roman Catholic Church will host its fall card party at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 in the church fellowship hall, 608 High St.

A salad bar, other refreshments and prizes will be included.

Bigfoot discussed at library event

ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., will host a presentation, “Bigfoot and Other Cryptids in our Area,” at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 28.

Speakers will be Brian Seech and Fred Saluga from the Center for Cryptozoological Studies.
