Butler Twp. Police2:07 p.m. Friday — Stephany L. Miller, 36, of Erie was charged with retail theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespass after she allegedly attempted to steal a pair of shoes valued at $19 from Walmart in Butler Commons.Police said Miller put on a pair of shoes, removed the price tags, and attempted to leave the store before she was stopped by loss prevention officers.Township police responded and said they found seven used syringes, 17 empty heroin stamp bags, and a spoon with suspected drug residue in her purse. A background check showed Miller had prior retail thefts at the Walmart in 2013. She also had a bench warrant from Venango County.She was arraigned before District Judge Sue Haggerty and placed in Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.6:03 p.m. Tuesday — Michael Miller, 50, of Butler lost control of his SUV while driving on Delwood Road and crashed into an embankment.Miller's SUV became stuck in heavy brush. Police said he then left the scene.Miller was charged with driving too fast for conditions, operating a vehicle with an expired registration, and abandoning a vehicle on private property.
