Wednesday — Police arrested a Mars couple with shoplifting $74 in merchandise last month from the Kmart store at Pullman Square. Daniel A. Wikert, 21, and Sarah A. Yost, 21, allegedly stole teeth whitening strips and a bottle of Old Spice cologne about 4:50 p.m. Sept. 24.Yost, who has three prior convictions for shoplifting, is charged with a felony count of retail theft. Wikert, who has one prior shoplifting conviction, is charged with misdemeanor retail theft.The defendants were arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison on $15,000 bail each. The couple's arrest came after Pleasant Hills police arrested them Saturday for allegedly shoplifting merchandise from a store in that Allegheny County borough.2:27 p.m. Sunday — Tyler Sallmen, 18, of Butler was arrested after he allegedly shoplifted several items from the Rite Aid on South Main Street and fought with a store manager who tried to stop him.Sallmen is accused of taking a back pack, sunglasses, a ball cap and merchandise, totaling $82, from the store. He ran out of the store after a brief scuffle with the manager, who was not hurt.Police a short later time nabbed the suspect in the area of Main and Jefferson streets. He is charged with robbery and retail theft.

9 p.m. Monday — Craig A. Green, 31, was arrested after allegedly attacking his girlfriend, 26-year-old Bodacious Ann Emerick, during a domestic dispute at the couple's home on Reed Lane in Summit Township.Green is accused of choking Emerick and slamming her to the ground, according to court documents. Police said he also punched her in the face before leaving the home with their 3-year-old son. Emerick suffered minor injuries.Green was later arrested and arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail.

3:39 p.m. Wednesday — No injuries were reported when a pickup truck struck a Ford City woman on Route 28 in Harrison Township, Allegheny County. Moments earlier, the pedestrian, 26-year-old Jaysa R. Gerboc, was a passenger in a southbound car that broke down on the highway.Gerboc got out of the car and tried to cross the northbound lanes but was hit by the pickup driven by Charles M. Brezinski, 64, of Freeport, who was not charged. A police report did not identify the driver of the car.10:55 a.m. Wednesday — Melinda K. Kaufman, 68, of East Brady was hurt when the car she was driving collided with another car on Route 268 in Sugarcreek Township.Kaufman and Stanley L. Williams, 57, of Cowansville, a passenger in the other car, were both taken to ACMH in East Franklin Township with unknown injuries. Timothy Martin, 58, of Cowansville was the other driver. All occupants in both cars were wearing seat belts.Police cited Kaufman for driving at an unsafe speed.12:01 a.m. Wednesday — An unidentified vehicle struck a mailbox and sideswiped a utility pole along Freeport Road east of Glade Run Road in North Buffalo Township. The driver did not stop after the crash and traveled west on Freeport Road.Tuesday — Household items and tools worth $1,650 were stolen in a burglary at a home on Rohrbach Road in Bradys Bend Township. The break-in happened between 11 p.m. Monday and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.State Police, New Castle9:45 p.m. Sunday — Matthew R. Tolley, 28, was arrested after allegedly assaulting 26-year-old Kimberly Shaffer and an unidentified boy at their home in the 200 block of Studebaker Road in Perry Township.Tolley was arraigned on charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment and two counts of harassment. He was placed in the Lawrence County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.
