The Irene Stacy Center, 112 Hillvue Drive will begin a community outreach program in response to the increase of opiate usage in the state.

“Human Physiology and Addiction: Why Anyone Can Become a Substance Abuser,” begins at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15 at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road.

The free program, which will run the third Wednesday of each month, will illustrate how all-consuming a drug addiction or alcoholism can be.
