2:33 a.m. Sept. 25 — A car driven by Allison J. Kelly, 36, of Butler Township struck a utility pole along East Jefferson Street. The pole and car both sustained heavy damage. The pole needed immediate repair and the car had to be towed.Police said Kelly was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
Sept. 24 — Lisa H. Yanief, 47, was charged with drunken driving stemming from a police call to her home in the 500 block of Northfield Drive. The call came from a neighbor reporting that Yanief was “extremely intoxicated and upset,” according to court documents.Officers got there and found Yanief, who was “belligerent and uncooperative,” a police affidavit said. Police said she smelled of alcohol and appeared to be drunk. She was unable to stand on her own and needed the help of two officers to keep her stable.Police said they determined that before they got there, the defendant had been driving a minivan. She refused to submit to a blood test and again became “belligerent with officers,” documents said.Yanief is charged with driving under the influence and careless driving.
Thursday — Police filed felony and other charges against Jenny L. Gaiser, 31, of Chicora stemming from the alleged beating of a girl at her Rogers Lane home in Clearfield Township. Gaiser is accused of grabbing the youth by the arms, throwing her to the floor and repeatedly hitting her on the left arm.The girl, who was not identified in a police news release, suffered undisclosed injuries to her arms.Gaiser is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and child endangerment.Wednesday — Jonathan J. Traver, 37, of Slippery Rock Township was charged with stalking his ex-girlfriend following an incident last month at her home in the 300 block of West Cooper Street in Slippery Rock.Traver's former girlfriend, Denise Moesta, called authorities shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sept. 16 to report he had shown up at her home and damaged her car and her new boyfriend's car.The defendant is accused of scratching the entire right rear of Moesta's car and scratching a derogatory word on the hood of the other car, according to court documents. The total damage was estimated at $4,947.The suspect drove away and was gone when police got there. Moesta advised police that she has a protection from abuse order against Traver.Police said they went to Traver's home on Suburban Lane and had to force their way inside to take him into custody.In addition to stalking, he is charged with criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct.Sept. 27 — An unknown vandal damaged the tires of a mall security vehicle in the rear parking lot at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. The vandalism, which caused about $520 in damage, happened between 11 p.m. Sept. 26 and 5:30 a.m. Sept. 27.11:42 a.m. Sept. 25 — A student was caught with unspecified drugs at Slippery Rock Middle School on Kiester Road in Slippery Rock Township. Police did not identify the suspect, who faces drug-related charges in juvenile court.
11:15 p.m. Sept. 28 — A car driven by Erika Y. Hetzler, 25, of Emlenton struck the back of another vehicle on Interstate 80 in Richland Township, Clarion County. The crash reportedly happened when the other driver changed lanes, pulling in front of Hetzler's car.While Hetzler's car was disabled from the crash, the other driver did not stop. Anyone with information about the unidentified driver's identity is asked to call police at 814-226-1710.
12:15 a.m. Sunday — James F. Sullivan, 42, of St. Petersburg, Clarion County, was arrested after he showed up at a 48-year-old woman's home on River Avenue in Emlenton and refused to leave. Sullivan was arraigned on a charge of trespass and placed in the Venango County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Tuesday — A Smith & Wesson 9 mm pistol was stolen from a 56-year-old man's home on Sawmill Road in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County. The gun was taken between Sept. 1 and Tuesday. A police report did not indicate if they have any suspects.State Police, MercerSept. 29 — Stephanie M. Bowen, 38, of Grove City was charged with a felony count of retail theft after she was caught Sept. 20 allegedly shoplifting items at the state store in Pine Township, Mercer County.
Friday — The state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement cited the Rock Ann Haven bar on Greenwood Avenue in Butler Township for the improper use of a loudspeaker on six days between June 28 and Aug. 16.An administrative law judge will hear the case.
