BC3 claims league golf title
Knoch graduate Chris Kier carded a two-day total of 152 (79-73) to help the Butler County Community College golf team win the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference title, held Saturday and Sunday at The Links at Spring Church.
The Pioneers had 639 strokes as a team and defeated CCAC-North (658) and CCAC-Boyce (697).
Also scoring for BC3 were Tommy Dimun (80-84-164), Steve Adametz (82-82-164), Jayce Corklin (87-80-167) and Andre Groff (86-82-168).
The Pioneers will compete at the Pennsylvania Invitational next weekend at Penn National Golf Club in Franklin County.

Waynesburg University quarterback Carter Hill threw for 311 yards and five touchdowns as the Yellow Jackets crushed host Grove City College 35-0 to spoil Homecoming for the Wolverines Saturday afternoon.
Hill’s second scoring pass of the game — a 91-yard toss to Willie Leavell — jump-started a 21-point second quarter for Waynesburg.
Butler High graduate Zach Rader caught three passes for 33 yards for the Wolverines while Karns City product Tyler Kepple entered the game at quarterback and completed five of eight passes for 22 yards.
Grove City (0-4, 0-2) hosts Washington & Jefferson next Saturday with a 7 p.m. kickoff.
