3:33 a.m. Friday — Michael S. Mothersell, 35, of Butler was charged with possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness after police found him passed out at the corner of Washington and Birch streets.Police said Mothersell was visibly under the influence when he was awakened and had trouble standing. Officers found a syringe and an empty suboxone packet on him.He was taken to the Butler police station to sober up then was released.

1:37 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Christopher L. Shumate, 25, of Grove City crashed into the porch of a home along Tower Road in Pine Township, Mercer County.Police said Shumate lost control of his car while going around a curve. He was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

2:20 p.m. Friday — A hit and run collision occurred in the parking lot of Tom's Riverside in Beaver Township, Clarion County.Police said an SUV driven by Deanna J. McGiffin, 70, of Knox backed out of a parking space and into a car driven by Beth A. Ealy, 52, of Petrolia.McGiffin contacted state police to report the collision and she was told to exchange information with Ealy. When Ealy tried to get McGiffin's information, McGiffin left the scene, police said. When McGiffin was contacted at her home she told police she had not been in a collision. The police report does not list if any charges were filed.
