BC3 Education Foundation awards $176,600 in scholarships
BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Community College Education Foundation has awarded $176,600 to BC3 students for the 2014-2015 academic year. Scholarships range from $250 to full tuition, which is $2,880 per semester for in-state students.
A total of 38 students received the Presidents Scholarship this year, which is the largest number in the college’s 50-year history. This scholarship awards full tuition to students who graduate from a Butler County public high school in the top 10 percent of their class and are county residents.
“The increase in top achieving students who select BC3 reflects the solid reputation of our academic programs and the ease with which students are able to transfer credits to four-year colleges,” said Francie Spigelmyer, vice president for academic affairs, in a news release.
