Christ Community Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Covenant Presbyterian Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will observe welcome back Sunday and worship will return to 11 a.m. The Rev. Elizabeth McCormick, partner in ministry, will speak. The sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated.The seekers adult Sunday school class will resume at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. First BaptistFirst Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will have an 8:30 a.m. breakfast and a 9 a.m. prayer service before Sunday school and the morning worship service.The Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Western Pennsylvania Ladies Missionary Fellowship will sponsor the 2014 annual Ladies Fall Retreat at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp. First Presbyterian of BakerstownAt the Sunday worship services at First Presbyterian Church of Bakerstown, 5825 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, children and teachers will receive back-to-school blessings and children will receive gifts for their return to school.Michael Geer of the Pennsylvania Family Institute will speak at adult Sunday school in the Westminster Room. Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Rally Day at Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will begin at 9:15 a.m. with the Sunday school kickoff and breakfast in the memorial room. During worship, Sunday school teachers will be commissioned, fourth-graders will receive Bibles and the Lord's Supper will be celebrated. The mission offering will support the church's sponsored child.Chanticleer Ringers will rehearse from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. today and chancel choir will rehearse from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m.The Eighth annual Community Day of Prayer will be Sept. 13. White Oak Springs White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew, will mark the beginning of a new year of Sunday school with an outdoor worship service at 9:45 a.m. Sunday in the Shannon Pavilion on the church grounds.Sunday school classes will be at 11 a.m., and a “tailgate” picnic be at noon.
