Butler County Community College women’s volleyball team opened conference play with a 25-6, 25-11, 25-7 sweep of Westmoreland County Community College Wednesday night.

A trio of Freeport graduates helped key the Pioneers to victory.

Danika Durand handed out 13 assists, Michaela Bowser had four kills and three blocks while Alexis Schrecengost had a team-high 11 kills.

Butler graduate Heather Straynick contributed seven digs for BC3 (4-1, 1-0).
