2:32 a.m. Aug. 15 — Laken M. Kearns, 24, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Pittsburgh Road near Hansen Avenue. Police said Kearns was pulled over after she failed to stop at a flashing red signal.

Saturday — An unknown thief between Aug. 18 and Saturday stole the license plate off the Little Eagles Football trailer parked at the Little Eagles field at Hunter Farm Park.

Wednesday — Police reported they are investigating the June burglary of an 85-year-old man's home on Duffy Road in Center Township. The break-in happened between June 6 and 26.A police news release did not indicate if they have any suspects or if any property was stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.12:01 a.m. Sunday — A Crawford County teenager was caught with unspecified drugs following a traffic stop on East Cooper Street near Normal Avenue in Slippery Rock. Police said charges are pending against the 19-year-old Titusville man.

11 p.m. Friday — Meranda Millard, 31, of Venus allegedly assaulted a 33-year-old man at a home on Dutch Road in Pinegrove Township, Venango County. Police said Millard repeatedly punched and kicked the alleged victim.The man suffered numerous body injuries. Police said Millard faces charges of simple assault and harassment.

12:20 a.m. Sunday — An Erie woman was arrested after allegedly slashing an ex-boyfriend with a box cutter during an argument at a Jane Drive home in Manor Township.The suspect, 42-year-old Brenda M. McMahon, was already free on bail on charges she attacked a trooper earlier this month in nearby East Franklin Township.Police said in the latest case, McMahon cut Mark W. Shankle Jr., 22, at his Manor home. A police report noted that Shankle had previously ended the couple's relationship, which angered McMahon.The defendant allegedly had gone to Shankle's home to collect a $6,000 debt that she claimed he owed her. She used a box cutter knife to slash the victim on his forearms.While Shankle tried to restrain McMahon, the defendant's husband intervened, grabbing the victim by the neck.Police were eventually notified and arrested McMahon on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment. She was arraigned and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $40,000 bail.Her husband, Patrick W. McMahon, 44, of Erie, was cited for a summary charge of harassment.Shankle, meanwhile, was treated at ACMH Hospital in East Franklin for cuts to his arm. Police said he received several stitches on each arm.The arrest was Brenda McMahon's second brush with the law this month.Police arrested her Aug. 14 after she allegedly attacked a trooper who found her passed out at Croyle Cemetery in East Franklin Township.When officers tried to awaken her, McMahon became “belligerent and combative,” a police report said. She is accused of kicking and hitting a trooper.She was jailed on felony assault and other charges, and released Aug. 20 after posting $10,000 bail.

6:49 p.m. Saturday — A car driven by Katlyn M. Smith, 20, of Arnold, Westmoreland County, struck a utility pole on the yard of a home on Route 488 just north of Pleasant Hill Road in Perry Township, Lawrence County.Police cited Smith for driving at an unsafe speed.
