Man who jumped from bridge left truck on span
BUFFALO TWP — A man died Wednesday after apparently jumping off from the Route 28 bridge over Buffalo Creek.
His body was found under the bridge near the Butler-Freeport Community Trail, said Sgt. William Myers of the State Police in Kittanning.
He said a passerby saw the man jump from the bridge just before noon today.
That witness called the 911 center to report the incident, Myers said.
Myers said police found the man’s truck on the bridge.
Emergency officials on the scene, which straddles the border between Butler and Armstrong counties, located the body adjacent to the Butler-Freeport Community Trail.
The Butler County Coroner’s Office was called.
Police were withholding the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.
