John R. (Jack) Fry

John R. (Jack) Fry passed away quietly on Friday at UPMC in Cranberry Township.

Jack was born in McKeesport in 1935. He was the son of John Russell Fry and Francis Reed Fry.

After graduating from Penn State in 1957, he served four years in the U.S. Army. He was a helicopter and fixed wing pilot.

After the service, he then went to work for ALCOA and worked in the Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Ohio and Logans Ferry in New Kensington offices before being transferred to Rockdale, Texas in 1977. He retired in 1992.

Jack was a summer resident of Prospect for the past 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the Butler Farm Show. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Rockdale, Texas.

Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lois Colteryahn Fry; one daughter, Lorrie (Chris) Bell; two sons, Alan (Melissa) Fry and Daniel (Tasha) Fry, all of Huntsville, Texas; one brother-in-law, Elmer Colteryahn of Prospect; one sister-in-law, Elaine Colteryahn, also of Prospect; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

FRY — There will be no public visitation for John R. (Jack) Fry, who died Friday, July 11, 2014, and burial will be private.Arrangements were in care of the Jay Bryan Funeral Home in Prospect.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Rockdale, 1600 ALCOA Ave, Rockdale, TX 76567.
