Davanna Feyrer, 16, of Meridian, won the first “Ms. I’m a Star” pageant for contestants with special needs.

Davanna was awarded $400 to continue her education. She will participate in parades in the Butler County area through next year.

The 15 contestants, ages 6 to 20, from Butler County, completed an interview, performed a special talent and modeled with an onstage question from the judges.

Winners included Danni Glatz of Cranberry Township for interview, Samantha Lawson of Saxonburg for talent and Caitlyn Grey of Penn Township for modeling. Each received $225 in scholarship money.

Every contestant received $125 in educational scholarship money and other gifts donated by community sponsors.

On June 26, the Butler Duplicate Bridge Club winners were:

First: Hazel Allen and Lorraine Sherwin

Second: Chuck Weber and Alex Bealles.
