Tuesday — A Penn Township man faces charges stemming from a drug overdose at a home in the 4900 block of Shore Street.Police were called and found a medical crew treated Caleb Rugg, who was unresponsive on the living room floor. Several other people there told officers that Rugg had taken heroin, according to a police report.The suspect immediately regained consciousness after the overdose treatment drug naloxone was administered.Police said they found Rugg with four stamp bags of suspected heroin, four empty stamp bags, a metal spoon and two syringes. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.
5:11 p.m. Sunday — A 42-year-old Slippery Rock woman, who police did not identify, was stopped for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 8 at Benbrook Road in Center Township. Police said their investigation continues.Sunday — Someone overnight took a golf cart for a joy ride at the Moraine Camplands on Staff Road in Brady Township. The unknown suspect caused about $175 worth of damage to the cart.Saturday — An unknown thief stole a power nailer, valued at $500, from an unlocked vehicle parked in a driveway at a home in the 400 block of Stanford Road in Muddy Creek Township.1:09 a.m. Friday — Michael Kevin Kelly, 50, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Shroyer Mill Road and Pagenhardt Lane in Clay Township.Friday — A suspected drugged driver was arrested after a crash at Route 68 and Shearer Road in Oakland Township. The suspect, who police did not identify, faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.12:14 a.m. June 8 — David M. Jurgenson, 39, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of DUI after crashing his motorcycle at Route 528 and Ramsey Road in Jackson Township.
2:08 a.m. Saturday — A car driven by Brygida Prazuch, 61, of Chicago struck a tree along Interstate 80 in Richland Township, Clarion County. Police said Prazuch was cited for a lane violation.
3:38 p.m. Sunday — One person was hurt in a three-vehicle wreck in Manor Township. The crash happened when Charles A. Richardson, 41, of Kittanning momentarily took his eyes off the road and struck the back of a sport utility vehicle stopped for a red light on Route 422 at Scenic Drive.The collision forced the SUV, driven by Lauren M. Stefanick, 27, of Erie, into the back of a car, driven by Charles P. Signorino, 75, of Meadville, Crawford County, that also was stopped at the light.Skye A. Davis, 21, of Kittanning, a passenger in Richardson's car, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian hospital in Pittsburgh with minor injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt. Police said Richardson was cited for careless driving and for allowing his passenger to ride in his car without a seat belt.The Manor Volunteer Fire Department and Kittanning No. 6 Ambulance assisted police at the scene.1:20 a.m. Saturday — David M. Case, 21, of Freeport lost control of his car, struck a hillside and ended on top of a guardrail on Route 28 about one mile south of exit 18 in South Buffalo Township. Police said Case faces unspecified traffic tickets in the crash.June 16 — A 19-year-old woman accused a 61-year-old Ford City man, who police did not identify, of inappropriately touching her while they were on an all-terrain vehicle trail in the area of Elbow Run and Crawford Run roads in Kittanning Township.Police said they continue to investigate the case of suspected indecent assault.June 9 — Police charged Fred G. Clark Jr., 47, of Kittanning with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop at 2:10 a.m. May 5 on Route 422 near the Chief Bar in Manor Township.In addition to driving under he influence, Clark is charged with making an improper left turn, not using turn signals, disregarding traffic lanes, driving a vehicle without valid inspection, failing to carry his vehicle registration card, not wearing a seat belt, driving with an open container of alcohol and driving a vehicle not equipped with safety glass.
1:50 a.m. Sunday — Two people were hurt, one seriously, in a one-vehicle wreck in Worth Township, Mercer County. A medical helicopter flew the driver, Tanner J. Edwards, 24, of Jackson Center, to St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, Ohio, with a “major injury,” according to a police report.Edwards lost control of his pickup truck on Kilgore Road just west of Hunter Road and hit several trees. His passenger, Amber R. Shirley, 29, of Ellwood City, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.Police said Edwards was cited for a lane violation.
8:09 p.m. Saturday — A fight landed three people in trouble with the law outside a home in Perry TownshipThe fracas started at 32-year-old Mark Mansfield's driveway in the 500 block of Palo Alto Drive, where he tussled with Jeffrey Mansfield, 35, of Ellwood City. A police report did not identify the relationship, if any, between the two combatants.During the fight, police said, a neighbor of Mark Mansfield, 33-year-old Toni Kazeva, stepped in and hit the older Mansfield over the head with a landscape light.Police said all three suspects face misdemeanor assault charges in the altercation.
