In loving tribute to Dean King June 20, 2014, on what would have been our 50th wedding anniversary.

Today would be our 50th,

The memories flood my mind and heart,

So I will celebrate this day even though we are apart.

I remember a handsome groom and a joyful bride that day.

The years passed by so quickly, we thought the future so far away.

We knew this day would come, but not who it would be.

One of us would be left behind, it turned out to be me.

We were so lucky, the good outweighed the bad

And I’m so very thankful for all the years we had.
