Bruce Arthur Schmidley, 77, of Evans City passed away Friday evening in Cranberry Place, Cranberry Township.

Born on Dec. 3, 1936, in Rochester, he was the son of the late John and Ethel Littell Schmidley and stepfather, Ted King.

Art attended the Victory Church, where he served as an usher.

He retired as a by product worker for L.T.V. Steel, Aliquippa, in 1985.

Art served in the National Guard.

He was active at the Evans City Senior Center, where he enjoyed playing cards and was a member of the drum circle. He was a very caring person who loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Jean Seig Schmidley, on May 10, 2011; his son; his brother; and his four sisters.

Bruce Arthur Schmidley is survived by his two daughters, Susan (Richard) Huber of Zelienople and Nancy (Steve) Stevens of Evans City; his four sons, Thomas (Natalee) Schmidley of Mars, John (Shelly) Schmidley of Arizona, Timothy Schmidley of Baden and Joseph (Francine) Schmidley of McKees Rocks; his sister, Maxine Frazine of Beaver Falls; his brother, Edward King of South Carolina; his sister-in-law, Betty Schmidley of Rochester; his eight grandchildren, Michael (Amanda), Jamie, Jessica, John Jr., Jenna, Gabriel, Allen and Katie; and his great-grandson, Jaysen.

Schmidley— The friends of Bruce Arthur Schmidley of Evans City, who passed away Friday, May 16, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Evans City Senior Center, 426 E.
