Victoria Turk

Victoria Turk was born on Feb. 23, 1916, to the late Charles and Maude Walchesky. The Lord gave her 98 wonderful years and chose to call her home Wednesday.

She married William A. Turk on Nov. 2, 1938, and they were together for 72 years until his passing on Nov. 27, 2010.

Victoria lived in Erie for 54 years and lived in view of eternity as a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.

Her hobbies were baking, sewing and gardening.

She loved her family, friends and neighbors with an unconditional, unselfish love.

Victoria was an active member of her neighborhood and community.

She worked as a medical assistant at the Cerebral Palsy Center and voting polls at Grover Cleveland School.

She gave generously of her time and resources at her church, the First Free Methodist in Erie, where she was a member for 50 years. Recently, she joined the Providence Reformed Baptist Church in Erie where her son-in-law, John Swindlehurst, pastors.

She had a sweet, kind spirit and was a loving, devoted wife, mother, sister and friend.

She was so very precious and had a deep desire to serve Christ and share His love with everyone with whom she came in contact. She longed for her family and everyone she knew to come to know Christ as their personal Savior and experience the peace, joy and love that she had.

Victoria was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, William Turk; her brothers, Watson, Blair, Lewis, Frank, Ray, Johnny and Russell Walchesky; and her sisters, Gertrude Baer and Josephine Berkshire.
