Helena M. (Hawk) Pryor, 93, of Elwood, Ind., passed away Monday at the Community Parkview Care Center in Elwood, Ind.

Helena was born on June 25, 1920, in Lawsonham to the late Claude and Coralie (Shaffer) Hawk.

She married William M. Pryor on Sept. 20, 1941. He preceded her in death on Aug. 16, 1987.

Helena lived most of her adult life in Miami, Fla., except for 10 years in New Orleans, La., before moving to Indiana in 2001.

Helena retired from Jordan Marsh in 1989.

Helena is survived by her daughter-in-law, Pat Pryor of Frankton, Ind.; her grandson, Michael Pryor; her granddaughter, Ashlynn Pryor; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helena was preceded in death by her son William R. Pryor, and her brothers, Claude W. Hawk, James I. Hawk, Robert C. Hawk, Richard E. B. Hawk and Donald G. Hawk.

Pryor— Visitation for Helena M. (Hawk) Pryor, who passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the Kinsey-Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.The funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
