WEST SUNBURY — Sandy Lefebvre, a part-time professional children's librarian, will direct a summer reading program at North Trails Public Library, 153 West Sunbury Road.

A Scholastic Book Fair the week of June 16 will kick off the program.

Lefebvre retired after 23 years as a school librarian for the Butler School District.

Library visitors can meet Lefebvre from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. any Thursday.

Rotary International District 7280 will sponsor a Lifesteps Child Check screening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 16 at Clearview Mall. This is a new location for this month and replaces the monthly screening at the Lifesteps office.A screening evaluates a child’s development in playing, talking, seeing, hearing, moving and thinking.The visit takes about 30 minutes and the results are discussed immediately with the parents.To schedule an appointment, call 724-283-1010.Notices of local upcoming news should be received by the Focus Department one week in advance of the event.
