9:27 p.m. Sunday — Two teenagers wanted on warrants were arrested at North Main and Penn streets.A patrol officer spotted the suspects, Austin G. Harmon, 18, of Butler and Shawnna M. Bastian, 19, of Renfrew, walking together and knew that there was a warrant for Harmon. But police soon learned that Bastion, Harmon's girlfriend, also was wanted on a bench warrantA search of Harmon's back pack turned up several hypodermic needles and a metal spoon, according to a police report. Police searched Bastian's bag and found several hypodermic needles and a crack cocaine pipe.Both were placed in the Butler County Prison on their respective warrants. They also were cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.12:44 a.m. Saturday — Christopher J. Diaz, 26, of Butler was caught with suspected drugs and contraband following a traffic stop at West Jefferson and Chestnut streets.A search of Diaz found him with two syringes. In his car, officers found a stamp bag of suspected heroin and a metal spoon.Diaz is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance.

Wednesday — Police charged Dennison K. Wheeler II, 43, of Mercer with scamming six businesses in Grove City out of combined $880 in April.Wheeler is accused of selling advertising space on a race car he claimed to own. It was later discovered that he does not own a race car and he did not fulfill his obligation to advertise, a police report said.He is charged with six counts each of theft by deception and deceitful business practices.5:40 p.m. May 19 — Two men and a boy were arrested after they were caught inside the old Grove City Middle School on East Main Street.Charged with criminal trespass, a felony, are Codey Holtman, 21, and Trenton Stearns, 18, both of Grove City, and a 17-year-old borough boy, who police did not identify.Holtman and Stearns were arraigned and placed in the Mercer County Jail on $7,500 bail each. The boy is charged in juvenile court.

12:30 p.m. Monday — A 59-year-old Butler man allegedly stole a flagpole from a home being sold on Fisher Acres Lane in Franklin Township. The stolen property was found and returned to the owner. Police did not immediately identify the suspect, who faces a theft charge.12:03 p.m. Monday — An upstate New Yorker was hurt when the car she was driving struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Muddy Creek Township. Nicole A. King, 24, of Hammondsport, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries. Her two passengers, including a 3-year-old girl in a child safety seat, were not hurt.11:57 a.m. Monday — An 18-year-old Glenshaw, Allegheny County, man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Route 8 near Browns Hill Road in Middlesex Township.11:38 a.m. Monday — One person was hurt in a rear-end collision caused when a dog ran onto the road on Route 38 in Center Township.John Wagner, 60, of Gibsonia applied his brakes after the dog dashed across the road. Pamela Deloe, 23, of Butler was unable to stop her car and struck the back of Wagner's pickup truck.An 8-year-old riding in the truck was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and treated for minor neck pain. The youth, who police did not identify, and both drivers all were wearing seat belts.7:56 a.m. Monday — A minivan driven by Tod T. Eckert, 54, of Pittsburgh struck a deer on I-79 in Cranberry Township.6:45 a.m. Monday — An Allegheny County man was caught with suspected drugs and contraband following a traffic stop on I-79 in Cranberry Township.Police said Joshua A. Vankirk, 25, of Bridgeville, faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and other unspecified traffic violations.Jackson Township and Cranberry police assisted state police in the traffic stop.Monday — A burglar stole a 2011 KTM 250 motorcycle from a shed in a break-in at a home in the 100 block of Ridgeview Lane in Muddy Creek Township. The suspect got into the shed after breaking a window. The cycle is valued at $4,500.The burglary and theft happened between 11 p.m. Sunday and 5 p.m. Monday. Police believe the suspect fled on Route 19. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Monday — A black, plastic mailbox was stolen from its post on Zion Church Road in Worth Township. The theft happened between 2:30 p.m. Sunday and 11:30 a.m. Monday.9:30 a.m. Sunday — Tonya Lee Rob, 62, of Lyndora was arrested for suspicion of drugged driving at Mitchell Hill and East Butler roads in Summit Township.In addition to suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Rob faces tickets for driving without an inspection sticker, failing to pull over for an emergency vehicle, a stop sign violation, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, reckless driving and not wearing a seat belt.12:47 p.m. Saturday — Four people were hurt when a car driven by David P. Yednak, 23, of Cranberry Township rear-ended another car on Route 68 at Oak Drive in Forward Township.Yednak suffered a moderate injury. His passenger, Kalsey T. Ross, 18, of Evans City, and the other driver, John J. Verbanac, 17, of Cranberry Township, and his passenger, Mason T. Dehart, 17, of Evans City, suffered minor injuries. Both drivers and both passengers were wearing seat belts.Yednak was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.Saturday — A thief stole a number of unspecified items after smashing a front window of a car at a remote parking lot in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The theft happened between 4 and 6 p.m.

9:25 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle struck a deer at Dinnerbell and Victory roads in Jefferson Township, Butler County. Police did not identify the driver.7:15 p.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt in a three- vehicle wreck on Route 8 north at the Clearview Mall entrance in Center Township Butler County. Police did not immediately identify the drivers.The driver who caused the chain-reaction wreck and that driver's passenger, who police also did not identify, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police said that same driver faces a ticket for an undisclosed traffic violation.

3:29 a.m. Sunday — Raeann M. Rolston, 23, of Freeport lost control of her car and struck a guardrail on Interstate 80 at Stoney Lonesome Road in Clarion Township. Rolston was cited for careless driving12:56 a.m. Sunday — Jerroid DeHart, 34, of Emlenton was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck crashed into a tree along Huckleberry Ridge Road in Beaver Township, Clarion County.Thursday — Scrap metal was stolen from an Emlenton man's vacant trailer home on Lineman Road in Licking Township. The stolen property included wiring and cast-iron tube. Police noted that the trailer is being torn down.The theft happened between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 814-226-1710.

Friday — Police reported they are investigating the March 31 theft of at least 11 checks from a truck tractor at a home in the 1200 block of Barkeyville Road in Pine Township, Mercer County. Investigators have a suspect who they did not identify.

Thursday — A cell phone was stolen from a pickup truck in the Hell's Hollow parking lot at McConnells Mill State Park on Shaffer Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The thief broke a window to get into the truck owned by a Sewickley, Allegheny County, man.The theft happened between 6:30 and 7:45 p.m. as the man was hiking on the Hell's Hollow Trail.
