8:47 p.m. Thursday — Christopher Toy, 21, of Butler lost control of his car along Old Plank Road and struck a mailbox, utility pole, then a tree.The South Butler Volunteer Fire Department had to extricate Toy from the vehicle. Toy had minor scrapes from the crash.The cause of the accident is still under investigation.3:56 p.m. Thursday — Mark Porter, 27, of Butler was cited for careless driving after he was involved in a vehicle accident along Delwood Road.Police said Porter drove off the road and over an embankment.6:38 p.m. Tuesday — Arleen Etzrodt, 51, of Sarver and John Varos Jr. were cited for retail theft after they allegedly attempted to steal $175 worth of items from Walmart at Butler Commons.8:36 a.m. Monday — Linda Thompson, 31, of Valencia and Robin Cober, 28, of Butler were charged with conspiracy and retail theft after they allegedly tried to steal $500 in merchandise from Walmart at Butler Commons.Police said both Thompson and Cober went through the self checkout line without paying for items.

8:41 a.m. Friday — A car driven by Charlene J. Costanzo, 62, of Pittsburgh rear-ended a pickup truck driven by William B. Boak, 54, of Pittsburgh in a construction zone along Route 79 in Lancaster Township.Costanzo was cited for following too closely.2:44 a.m. Friday — William D. McGregor, 24, of Butler was charged with DUI and other traffic violations after being stopped at the intersection of Kildoo Road and Claytonia Road in Clay Township.Police pulled McGregor's Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck over for numerous equipment violations.McGregor was found to be intoxicated and agreed to a breath test.Thursday — The state police fire marshal's office is investigating the origin and cause of a fire that damaged a residence along Stone Avenue in Pine Township, Armstrong County.Roger Barnett, 48, of Templeton is the owner of the property.Damage is estimated at $30,000.1 a.m. May 18 — Kolby Eaker, 23, of Parker was charged with aggravated assault after allegedly punching Bradley Felix, 34, of Eau Claire.Police say Eaker struck Felix after a verbal altercation at the VFW Post 7073 in Hovey Township, Armstrong County.

3:42 a.m. Thursday — Kellie L. Horne, 29, of Butler was charged with simple assault after she allegedly hit a Butler man.Police responded to the 100-block of East Wayne Street on a report of an assault.Horne was covered in blood when she answered the door, police said.She told police her boyfriend, Elmer Scherder, 47, of Butler, threw her to the ground and smacked her head.Police spoke with Scherder, who was bleeding from the mouth, who said Horne began hitting him while he was sleeping.Horne was examined at Butler Memorial Hospital and was found to have no injuries. Police determined she was the aggressor of the incident and she was charged.
