Anna Belle Geibel

Anna Belle Geibel, 83, of Carbon Center, Butler, passed away unexpectedly at her home Tuesday afternoon.

She was born in Saxonburg May 19, 1930, the daughter of the late Frank Schoentag and Myrtle (Schoentag) Stewart.

A homemaker and caregiver to family and friends, Anna Belle had worked as a painter at International Staple and Machine Company, where she also served as a union officer negotiating labor contracts.

A faithful member of Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church in Butler, she was always very kind and cheerful, and a detailed organizer.

Anna Belle enjoyed gardening and dancing, was an excellent cook and baker, and cherished her family and friends most of all.

She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Victor Geibel, who she married in 1979. Surviving family also includes her stepchildren and their spouses, Ed (Sue) Ball, Richard (Doris) Geibel and Kathy Ann (Greg) Marshall, all of Texas, Robin (Stella) Geibel of Butler, Valerie (Don) Dalton of Tennessee and Sherry (Bob) Steakley of Texas; her brother, Frank Schoentag Jr. of Butler; her half-brother Donald (Twila) Stewart of North Carolina, and her two half-sisters, Linda (John) Pink of Boyers and Linda Bowser of Eau Claire. She also leaves her six grandchildren, and a number of step- and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Her son, Dennis Baker; her daughter, Paula Baker; her brother, William Schoentag; her sister, Jean Fusko, and her half-sister, Patty Mattern, preceded her in death.

Geibel — The friends of Anna Belle Geibel, who passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, will be received at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Beverly Banyay, interim pastor of Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church, officiating.Interment will be private at Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.“Some people come into our lives and quickly go.
